Dale M. Cecka

Dale Margolin Cecka is Of Counsel and practices in the areas of domestic relations and family law.

Dale brings a wealth of knowledge to the firm.  As the Director of the University of Richmond Law School’s Family Law Clinic, she teaches and writes in the area of family law. Professor Cecka’s scholarship focuses on child welfare issues, youth aging out of foster care, and the constitutional rights of parents, particularly those who are mentally disabled, in child protective proceedings. Prior to joining the Richmond Law faculty, Professor Cecka was a Skadden Fellow in the Juvenile Rights Division of the Legal Aid Society in New York and then a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the St. John’s University School of Law Family Law Clinic.

For her contributions in the area of family law generally, and foster care specifically, Professor Cecka was awarded the FACES of Virginia Families Empowerment Award in 2009.
